Ebay is the world’s number one marketplace and finding a bargain on Ebay can help you for the purposes of saving money for yourself or to acquire goods that you can sell on for a higher price.

There are many different ways to find an eBay bargain, but many people never think of doing this. Most of the time it is just a case of using common sense. In this article we will look at how to find bargains on ebay.

1. Shopping on eBay is no different to shopping anywhere else. Supply and demand dictate price. The best time to buy a winter jacket is in the summer. The best time to buy a barbeque is in the winter. Buying off season gives you the opportunity to pick up some great bargains.

Generally speaking people who are selling stuff in the off season are in more {of the frame of mind to accept a lower offer. They may be doing this because they need money, they are cleaning up around the house, or they might be moving and want to get rid of things they are no longer using. You can take advantage of this to either save money for yourself or to stock up on goods that you can sell at the right time of year.

2. Along those same lines think end of season. A store has a blow out sale to move out inventory they do not want to bring in new stock of in season products. People who sell online at eBay are no different. They are in the business of making money and they know the power of having a just in time inventory. Although you may not find as good of prices as off seasons, end of season pricing goes down and offers you a chance to save some money as well.

3. As you search be aware of last minute bargains. Look for auctions that are ending today and display the results listed first. Look for items that have no bids, or very few bids and are about to end. With everything there is to bid on eBay there are always bargains that get past even the best eBay bargain hunters.

4. If you do not mind spending some time you can find eBay bargains by searching for items that are misspelled. Many people who sell items on eBay are not good at spelling or typing. An item that is listed with spelling errors will not be searched as often as one with correct spelling. This gives you a chance to save some money because you may be the only one bidding on it.

For example, if you are looking for a coffee maker try using multiple misspellings. Cofee, Coffe, Caufee, etc. can bring up some surprising results. Alternatively, read on for a free tool that you can use to quickly and easily find misspellings on eBay.

These are just 4 ideas to keep in mind when searching for a bargain on eBay. It may take some additional time, but it can be fun and profitable for you as well.

If you or someone you know is interested in collecting, Ebay selling is something you need to get familiar with! Ebay is a huge Internet site that allows people to sell or buy at auction almost anything you can think of. There are very few restrictions on what you can buy or sell. Are you fond of antique toasters? Bicycles? Vintage rhinestone jewelry? Stuffed toys? Elvis memorabilia? Whatever you are collecting, Ebay selling will probably have what you want.

Ebay is essential to know about if you are enthusiastic about your collecting. For instance, if you collect a particular type of antique or vintage dishes, such as Fiesta, you can search Ebay for exactly the piece you need to complete your set. In addition to finding the exact item you are looking for, there is a possibility you’ll get it for a great price as well. That tangerine colored pitcher might be yours for a song. You just have to look.

Collecting is one thing, but what about when the collector gets more items than he or she can store? What if they inadvertently collected duplicates of the same item. Or what if you just have stuff you don’t want anymore? That’s where Ebay selling can help. You can list your item on Ebay, and another collector can find it and make a bid. Ebay is a great way to recycle unwanted used items and make a few dollars as well as helping you with your collecting. Ebay selling is not hard to learn, either.

For just about every item you can name, someone somewhere collects it, and they are probably searching Ebay for what they want. So whatever you are collecting, Ebay selling can help you generate the money needed to add items to your own collection while getting rid of things you don’t need. In addition, you can be gratified to know that the item you didn’t want, like the bikes your kids have outgrown, or your vintage clock, was exactly what some other collector was seeking.

Just like collecting, Ebay selling can get almost addictive. It’s a fun hobby that many people are discovering. So where do you go if there’s something special you are collecting? Ebay! Selling, you’ll find, is almost as fun as collecting, so be sure to try it, too. Remember, too, that Ebay can not only help you complete your collections. It can also be a source for the things you need for other hobbies, interests, and needs in your life.

What is a domain name? A domain name is a unique name, kind of like an e-mail address is unique, which is registered in a database called WHOIS through an organization called Network Solutions, Inc. (NSI). The domain name corresponds to a unique set of numbers called an IP (Internet Protocol) address. The reason we use domain names instead of IP addresses is that they are closer to our language. It would be difficult to market a site like this: “Go to 64.233.167.99 or 216.109.112.135 to search the internet!” A much easier way to do this is to say “Go to www.Google.com or www.yahoo.com to search the internet!” (Both Google and Yahoo are trade marked by Google, Inc., and Yahoo, Inc., respectively).

A domain name points to a computer called a “name server”. The name server knows that your domain name corresponds to your web hosting server’s IP address and it routes the person who typed in your domain name to your web hosting server - to your web site. That is how people anywhere in the world can see your web site by typing your domain name.

In 1992, the National Science Foundation granted an exclusive contract to NSI to be the sole registrar of top level domain names. NSI also had a cooperative agreement with United States Department of Commerce (”DoC”). With no competition, consumers were at the mercy of NSI.

In 1998, NSI and the DoC amended their cooperative agreement to allow for competing registrars. NSI was forced to provide domain name registration to the competing registrars at wholesale prices, rather than the standard $34.99 annual fee. NSI still charges $34.99 per year.

In late 1998, the DoC assigned the responsibility of overseeing the transition to a competitive market for domain names and accreditation of new registrars to a new organization called the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).

In 1999, ICANN began taking applications from companies who wanted to become registrars - and then capitalism took over: companies had to compete for business. Prices came down and service improved, however some are better than others. For a more detailed history of this transition, visit www.icann.org/registrars/accreditation-history.htm.

Even with the positive effects of competition in the domain name marketplace, the process of internet domain name registration remains a mystery for many.

There are a lot of companies that want to charge you hundreds of dollars to do the simple task of domain name registration for you. There are some registration companies who will charge you $35 just to register a domain. And there are web site consultants who charge over $100 to do the work for you. But you can do it yourself in about 15 minutes and it can cost as little as $1.99 for a year. If you do some research, learn a little and work smart, you can save yourself some money - and some headaches.

Domain names have become a very popular way to make money online, and some of these names may go for quite a profit. When the Internet first became popular, there were some people who had the foresight to buy the rights to some domain names that are very sought after. A domain name becomes public if the website owner forgets to renew the name with the provider, so it becomes a public domain name. These public domain names are available for purchase or lease.

Some investors will snatch up domain names when they become available, and then resell or lease the domain name to a website to be used for redirecting traffic to that site. The investor makes money and the website that gets the rights to the domain name can increase their traffic considerably. This process requires you to get the rights to use the domain name, and then sell it to a competing business which offers the same products or services.

There is also a market for domain names with the original owner who let the domain name lapse, most of the time because of simple forgetfullness. A lot of times these owners have invested considerable time, effort, and money into their website, so they are more than willing to pay to keep it. These owners will usually buy the domain name back from you if given a chance, sometimes at a large profit.

A third way to make money online with domain names is to buy up generic domain names that contain certain industry ketwords, and then offer to sell them within that industry to redirect traffic to the buyer’s main website. The generic keywords will vary from industry to industry, so finding out the best keywords for the industry you are targeting is a good idea with this method. Generic domain names like horsecare.com, or accountingnow.com will have interested buyers in these industries, so finding one is just a matter of marketing your service to find the buyers.

Making money online with domain names can be a very lucrative source of income if it is done properly. Public domain names become available constantly, mostly because of a negligence to renew them. The three main markets for domain names include buyers who wish to use the domain name to redirect traffic to their own website, buyers who have lost the domain name because they forgot to renew it and have spent a lot to create the site, so they are willing to pay to regain the domain name, and domain names that contain industry specific generic keywords.

You can also make money with domain names by gathering up generic domain names that contain buzz words within an industry and offering them to the highest bidder to be redirected toward a main site. As an example, if you had control of a URL like “conferencecallnow.com” chances are you would find interest on the part of a number of the teleconferencing companies around the world. It is relatively easy to make money selling domain names that are generic but still apply to a particular service offering.

To make money with domain names, you have to have an eye for what will resell in a reasonable amount of time, understand what the market will bear, and have plenty of answers to the question “how can I make money with a domain name?” Any speculator who can do this will know exactly how to make money from public domain names.

Not Relevant – Your domain name should be relevant to your business and to the content on your web site. BlueThistle.com may be catchy but it is not a relevant domain name for your site selling hardware goods.

Too Long – Although domain names can be up to 67 characters, your domain name should be shorter, preferably 7 characters or less. Shorter domain names are easier to remember, easier to type and less susceptible to mistakes.

Double Meanings - When joining words without a hyphen be careful that you don’t create any double meanings that might be embarrassing. Here are some examples to illustrate this point:

- therapistfinder.com

- choosespain.com

- molestationnursery.com (Mole Station Native Nursery in Australia)

- powergenitalia.com (Italian electricity company)

- speedofart.com

Poor Choice of Top Level Domain - If your business is in the US or if your web site is targeting a global audience then you should use .com as your top-level domain. Generally .net and .org domains are not perceived as being as professional as .com domains. If however you are marketing to a local audience in another country, for example in UK or Australia, then using the local .com domain such as .com.uk or .com.au may make it easier for visitors to recognize that your site is local.

No Trademark Conflicts - Make certain that your domain name is free of legal conflicts due to trademarks belonging to other businesses. Your new site at GoogleSecrets.com might attract a lot of traffic but it will probably attract even more after your court case is in the headlines for breaching Google’s trademark! Stay clear of other companies’ names and trademarks.

Next time that you select a new domain name keep the above items in mind. This should help you to choose a great domain name for your online business.

Whenever you encounter a popular name online, attached to a dot com or dot net, you might be wondering when you can one day get enough financial clout to put up your own immensely famous web company. With a dot com or dot net address that is easy to recall, you can have visitors flocking to your website easily, potential customers looking for a good deal on your products and services, and ordinary, run of the mill Internet surfers just curious to see what you are all about.

Not all dot com or dot net addresses last forever. When companies move out of the Internet and find new business opportunities to sink their teeth into, they can leave their domain name hanging. Along with this domain name is a built in market: because a large number of people have been going to the domain name and its adjoining website for so long, an expired domain name literally has its own market hanging on to it. With a lot of traffic, you can have a potential website waiting for you to create it.

Note, however, that domains do not simply expire and run into the next highest bidder arms. When a domain name passes its expiration date, it rests in a forty day static period, where the current owner of the domain name can still re enter it into a domain name registry. After forty days of not being touched, the domain then goes into a thirty five day period where the owner can still re enter it into a domain name registry, but for a much higher fee than when it was offered. After all these grace periods, the domain has finally expired, and the next owner can be you.

You can look for expired, or soon to expire domain names in domain registries online, which can advertise which domain names may soon be up for grabs. When you finally get that expired domain name, you have to get down to business. Because you have a constantly flowing market that goes with the domain name, you are pressed for time to create a new website that this market will go to when they type the old domain name into their web browser address bar. If the domain name is related to a site that you already maintain, then you can redirect it to your site and have all the traffic run over to your side of the Web universe.

If you must create a new website, do so within twenty four to forty eight hours of purchasing the expired domain name. You do not have to create a site heavy with graphics or animation: you need five or more pages of useful content that can contain information relevant to the domain name, and useful to the website visitor. Prepare to meet this incoming traffic head on by enrolling in affiliate programs and posting your AdSense ads in strategic places in your new website.

When creating a new website, follow all the rules of good web design. Make sure that your text contrasts well with your background without straining the eyes of your visitors. Avoid putting too many graphics or animation that can slow your site down when it loads into the browsers of your website visitors. Make sure that your site is secure enough to accept payments from your buyers should you offer products or services online. Lastly, make sure that you have well-written content that you can update regularly, keeping your readers coming back for more.

These are only a few tips in correctly using expired domain names. Be on the lookout for expired domain names by updating yourself constantly. Do research on popular domain names and web content that you can work on. You, too, can earn money, web traffic, and online fame, if you have enough mettle and know how.

After all the debate over website design, shopping carts and credit card processors, every website owner eventually comes to the startling realization that they need one more thing to survive - website traffic!

Without website traffic it’s the same as building an expensive billboard and, instead of placing it alongside a busy highway, hiding it in your *basement* where nobody can see it.

Upon realizing they need traffic, most website owners run out and start blowing chunks of money and time trying to get “hits,” but they fail to grasp that there are really only three (3) reliable ways to get traffic to any website.

Method #1 - Buy Traffic Currently, the fastest way to get traffic to any website involves using the little classified ads on the right side of search giant Google’s results pages.

Called Google AdWords, the system allows any advertiser to open an account with a $5 activation fee and start seeing their ads appear on Google within about 15 minutes.

Advertisers only pay when visitors actually click through from their ad on Google to their website or affiliate link.

Overture.com also sells traffic by the click, but they make you wait three to five days to go through their editorial review process before allowing ads to appear on their network.

You can also buy advertising on dozens of other pay-per-click search engines.

They all follow the same basic model of only charging advertisers for targeted visitors who read an ad based on a keyword search and decide to click through for more information.

Log on to www.payperclicksearchengines.com for a list of over 600 choices ranked by market penetration.

A word to the wise on pay-per-click advertising: Watch your costs and track and measure everything. Even though you can get traffic for as little as a penny, you should track your results by search engine and by individual keyword if you want maximum success.

Many a company has lost its entire advertising budget paying only a nickel or a dime per click, but not watching their conversion rates and pouring money into keywords that don’t convert… while neglecting the keywords that do bring sales (mainly because they don’t know which is which!).

Method #2 - Borrow Traffic If you need traffic to a website, then borrow it from people who already have it… especially people with lists of loyal subscribers or traffic from search engines, affiliates, or other steady sources.

“Endorsed Mailings” and “Reciprocal Linking” by other people represent the two fastest ways to borrow someone else’s traffic.

If they maintain a list of subscribers, convince them to send an email out to their people telling them why they should check out your site.

Also, negotiate a prominent link on their web pages to siphon off targeted visitors who find their website.

Often the best way to persuade someone to do this involves paying them a commission, agreeing to do a similar mailing, or providing a link to them on your site (or a combination of all three).

Imagine how much traffic you could get if someone with a list of 10,000 loyal subscribers told their people to go look at your website!

Method #3 Recycle Traffic The most economical way to get traffic involves turning one-time visitors into regular, repeat visitors that you direct to multiple sites over time.

You do this by pulling website visitors into your sphere of influence by enticing them to sign up for your newsletter, autoresponder sequence, or “mini-course.”

Then you keep in contact with regular articles, special reports, and recommendations enticing them to visit your own and other people’s websites.

Ultimately, every website owner should orient all of their marketing efforts towards this end of developing a stream of recycled traffic, because it costs the least and creates the best return on time and money invested.

It doesn’t matter if you promote your own product, promote only as an affiliate, or some combination of the two… if you don’t recycle traffic and get more than one hit out of each visitor, you’re making one of the biggest mistakes anyone can make online.

Recently, my wife and I were looking for a moving company for a big relocation we have coming up in the not-too-distant future. I was amazed when looking at the web sites of the local moving companies - every single one of them had ineffective copy. Not a single one of them excited me to do business with them and most just presented reasons not to!

The number one, most important job of your website is to make your visitor feel great about your company, but so many don’t rise to the challenge! I am going to share three ways you can do that.

1. STRUCTURE your home page. No one is going to get further into your website if the structure of the home page is not crystal clear and to the point. Make sure your home page answers these questions and then shift everything else to ancillary pages:

a. What do you do? Be specific and avoid technical jargon. Talk TO your customers, not AT them.

b. How do you do it? Let them know what systems and methods you use to be able to come through with exactly what they need.

c. Why are you qualified to do it? Remember that anyone can make a claim, particularly in the faceless world of the Internet. Offer some credibility statements.

d. What is unique about how you do it? Think about the ways you differentiate from your competition. Are you more responsive? Do you have a greater selection? Think about the special “signature”‘ that you present to the marketplace.

2. Know and utilize your CORE VALUES. Your core values are the principles you use as the basis for your decisions. You should have four or five core values that represent your company. These values should be thought out and well defined. Samples of core values are integrity, passion, quality, customer service, affordability, joy, social responsibility … the list goes on.

Once you have labeled your specific core values, you MUST infuse them into your web site. You should be able to feel every single one of them on your home page! If “fun”‘ is a one of your core values, make me smile when I read your web page. If “sincerity”‘ is on your list, your words MUST be from the heart. If “quality”‘ is a principle that guides you, your home page MUST reflect that. In other words, your home page has to be a mirror reflection of your core values.

If there are any discrepancies between what you say your values are and how your site comes across to people, these prospects might not be able to put their finger on what they don’t like about your site, but they WILL NOT give you their business. Your core values are the heart and soul of your company and infusing them into your website will help you attract the people who should be doing business with you.

3. PROOFREAD your copy. This is the easiest and yet most overlooked issue that comes up time and again - and proofreaders are incredibly inexpensive! It would probably cost you less than $100 to ensure that your site is error-free. Websites with errors are sites with emotional road blocks. When visitors see that you did not take the time to invest in clean copy, they are immediately turned off (especially your higher end clients - the people who have the capacity to refer you to their entire network). Think about inviting someone to your home. Would you let them see a sloppy place? What kind of message would that send? That you just don’t care. Don’t give your visitors a reason to never even get to the heart of what your business offers.

Ultimately, when it comes to your site, you have to put out there who you truly are and make it easily understandable and error-free so people can experience your message in the way it is intended. Not doing so is like trying to enjoy a movie when the couple in front of you is making out, the kid behind you is on his cell phone and the film itself keeps stopping and starting. When you have a distinct message to give your visitors, make it easy for them to receive it loud and clear.

Follow these three simple steps and you’ll convert more visitors to customers.

Most businesses that do some work online have come around to accepting that a company blog can help to get them noticed – both by the search engine spiders and by current and prospective customers. However, despite knowing that a blog can help with their marketing tasks, not everyone knows how to get started.

Those who do get started with blogging also face a number of challenges. Some have trouble deciding between blogging platforms. Some choose to host their blog on a free site rather than on their own server along with their web page. And, those who do end up getting a blog up and running often find that it’s hard to stay on top of posting, updating and even knowing what to write about.

The good news is that you don’t have to always come up with new topics to write about.

That doesn’t mean that you should follow the advice that some websites give – you shouldn’t just pull articles from directory sites. Nor should you copy or just rewrite all of the information that’s already on your company’s website.

What it does mean is that you can consider hiring a content provider who can maintain your company’s blog for you.

Imagine working with a company that will install blogging software on your webhost. Picture yourself talking with a search engine optimization professional, someone who can help you to determine which keywords and key phrases will best benefit your site when it comes to search engine rankings and who can establish the appropriate categories for your posts.

Then, once your blog has been set up, think about what it would be like to have a content writer create daily posts for your blog. Each post will be relevant to the products or services that your company provides, and written specifically to a category of your blog. Not only that, but keywords and phrases that are relevant to your site, your products and services and your company will be included in the title, body and closing links of your post.

The writer who creates your blog content will begin a dialog with your current and prospective customers – telling them more about the products and services that you have to offer, more about your company and information that they’re looking for. More importantly, the writer who posts to your blog will be able to build links back to your blog, comment on issues that are relevant to your business and your industry and establish your company’s reputation.

Whether your business sells tangible goods like DVDs, computers or airline tickets or your company offers bookkeeping services or marketing research, a company blog can help you build customer relationships and credibility. More importantly, it can help to draw traffic to your website.

Everyone knows that original content is king – a blog can add original content to your website on a daily basis. And, when you hire a content producing company like Article Content Provider to maintain your company’s blog, you can rest assured that you will have keyword rich, relevant content that your readers can rely on, content that will keep them coming back for more.

Why struggle to come up with the right words when a writer can do it for you? Why invest in search engine optimization techniques that don’t always work when you can keep the search engine spiders coming back to crawl your site each and every day?

Let a content provider install blog management software, work with you to choose the right categories and assign a writer who can create quality content for your site – each and every day.

Chris McElroy aka NameCritic manages several blogs for companies and can help you with your blog as a consultant or manager. Visit www.seoserviceprovider.com for more info.
